Scrapbooking weekend in Myrtle Beach

This past weekend I went to Myrtle Beach for a scrapbooking weekend with my friends Eileen and Heidi. We had a great time and got a lot of scrappin' and a little shopping done.
Last year my friends and I attended a Creative Memories sponsored scrapbooking retreat at the beach. We had a great time and really got a lot of scrapbooking done so we wanted to do it again this year. It occurred to us that we could get more done if we didn't have to leave our hotel room to scrap though so this year we went on our own. We decided on Myrtle Beach for several reasons. Eileen had been there before, we knew that we could get a room with a long table perfect for three people to scrapbook on, and the close proximity to shops - scrapbooking and outlet stores.
We left Friday at noon and got to Myrtle Beach around 4. Our first stop was Barefoot Landing for dinner at Johnny Rockets and some shopping. Back at the hotel we scrapped until after 2 AM. Day two we were up by 8:30 and hard at work again. We took a break for lunch (Uno's Chicago Grill at Broadway at the Beach) and then it was back to scrapping. We decided on seafood for dinner so it was back to Barefoot Landing to Joe's Crab Shack. After stuffing ourselves with shrimp and calamari we headed back to the room where we scrapped until after 3 AM. Sunday morning we had a few hours to finish up our projects before we needed to check out. We packed up and headed to the outlet malls.
The big news for me from this weekend was that I got all of Reia's first year pictures in her album. There are still some finishing touches required throughout her book but for the most part it is complete. YAY!!!! Eileen and Heidi are both scrapping current pictures and it has been very frustrating to be so far behind. I am excited about starting a new album for Reia and debating whether to jump ahead to this year so that I can get current and then fill in the year in between or just to continue to plod along in chronological order and just hope that one day I catch up. It is such a good feeling to see Reia's mostly completed album. I can't wait to share it with those of you who are interested in seeing it.
